Rat Terriers were bred to be excellent ratters on farms. These sturdy little terriers come in all different colors and sizes- we have many different colors of rat terriers, ourselves. We have both upright eared as well as button eared dogs. Some of our Rat Terriers have natural bobbed tails. Our goal is to breed type-A Mini Rat Terriers with great personalities. Our Rat Terriers are equally at home in the house with the kids or on the farm among the livestock.
One of the best features of the Rat Terrier is their great temperaments. Most Rat Terriers get along exceptionally well with kids. Ours are raised in the house with the kids, so they are accustomed to them and are very comfortable around kids (of course, if your kids pull the dog’s tail and poke her in the eye, then she’s not likely to be very sweet in return, although they are very tolerant). They love to play with the kids, and have the right balance of energy and gentleness. Many love to retrieve balls, sticks, etc. Yet when you are ready to sit and rest, they are ready to snuggle in your lap. You probably can not find a better dog for kids anywhere. They tend to be less hyper and less aggressive than Jack/Parson Russell terriers are. Most Rat Terriers get along very well with other dogs.
Some Rat Terriers get along very well with cats and some will harass them unmercifully. How they get along with cats depends some on the individual dog’s temperaments, some on what other animals they have been raised with, and some on if they have been discouraged from chasing cats or not. Many will get along with the family cat, but may go after a stray.
All our Rat Terriers are registered with the American Kennel Club and/or the United Kennel Club.

Wiger is a red sable tuxedo male. He is a super sweet, playful boy who loves attention. When he was born he had a deformed leg and I thought he wouldn’t be able to use it at all. As he grew his leg straightened out on it’s own to the point that you would never know he had something wrong with him! He moves perfectly now and is very agile and athletic! He has a long tail. He will likely mature between 9 to 11 lbs. He is PLL Clear by Parentage.
